What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is the independent statutory agency responsible for implementing and managing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability for supports that are reasonable and necessary and aligned with participant goals. It also connects people with disability to broader community and government services.
In official NDIS information, eligibility and support decisions are guided by the NDIS Act and related rules, including criteria for permanent and significant disability and reasonable and necessary supports.
